January 2008 – A New Year and a Happy Birthday

2008 will see Room 108 reach its 10th birthday. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all our clients, suppliers and partners for your support, without who, we may not have reached this milestone.

May 2007 – Warning - The UK Internet Register Scam
If you should receive any postal forms, faxes or emails regarding the registration of your domain be careful about automatically replying.
We are aware of a selection of letters, forms and faxes that are sent to domain owners informing that their domain is up for renewal or that their registration details are incorrect. Most are worded to seem like an automatic renewal or update, when in fact are usually order forms for renewal or for advertising at a high cost.
We advise that you ignore these forms if they do not initiate from your domain registrar. If you are at all worried about missing your renewal or of incorrect details being held regarding your domain name, please contact Room 108 or your domain registrar to discuss.
January 2007 – New Regulations on required website content from Companies House
An update to the UK Companies Act 2006 means that from 1st January companies must include certain information on their website.
- These include:
- The company's name
- The company's registered office address
- The company's place of registration and registration
An additional element to the updated act includes emails. As emails can also be considered your electronic letterhead it is now a requirement to show the information required for company letterhead to be shown on company emails.

November 2006- Collaborative Web Design and Development
Room 108 have had the pleasure of working with West Lothian Graphic Designers Full Circle Graphics during 2006 on several web based projects.
Most recently our collaborative efforts have produced the brochure website for West Lothian based Print Mail, who offers Envelope Overprinting and office products.
September 2006- No News is Good News?
If it's on your website then not necessarily! Failing to keep your website content fresh will lead visitors to turn away. But how do you update your news section if there is no news to share?
Here at Room 108 we have been reviewing our website site from all angles to make sure it is as useful and usable to our clients and visitors as possible. Over the coming months we will be working tirelessly to enhance our visitors’ experience and provide more information for our clients. April 2006 –Helping Bat Research Expand its Reach
The Bats and The Millennium Link project is quickly growing into the Scottish Bat research website with the addition this month of a gallery of images showing the work the team is involved in. The project has recently gained publisher status and next month will see an inclusion of a subscription based service for the store of papers coming from the research project. October 2005 – End of an Epic
October saw the end of Peter Wright’s Watershed Epic, as he completed his walk from the English border to the north of Scotland. Keep an eye open for the final instalments on the watershed website. Our question remains – where will he be walking next year?
June 2005 – Scottish Web Design with a Global Audience
As can be seen in our portfolio, Room 108 Limited had the pleasure of working with Aird Associates on their Imperial Yi Jing (I Ching) website.

April 2005 – Room 108 Awarded Contract for New Spa Development
Building on the back of our successful work with Youngson Insurance Consultants and our continuing work within the not-for-profit sector, Room 108 Limited has been awarded the contract for the launch website for a multi-million pound spa and health club development. This project will include online brochure, e-commerce, interactive members’ area and virtual tour.
February 2005 - The beautiful landscapes of Scotland
The winter months brought snow to most of Scotland and also saw new projects for Room 108 in Perthshire and Aberdeenshire. Not the ideal places to travel in this weather but beautiful all the same.

November 2004 - Apple testing brought in-house
Room 108 brings its Macintosh testing in-house with investment in new Apple hardware, allowing us to tailor our testing solutions to our clients needs.
October 2004 - New site integrity checking
A new Website Integrity Checking System has been developed to offer our clients increased peace of mind. Daily monitoring of all managed websites allows Room 108 to watch for any unauthorised site modifications.
September 2004 - New Product Portfolio Launched

Room 108 provides Website Modification Training and IT Security Consultancy for Occupational Psychologist and Management Consultants within west Lothian.
May 2004 - Supporting Not For Profit Organisations
Room 108 continues to support not for profit organisations by implementing websites for South Edinburgh Open Award Group and Napier University Sub Aqua Club.

February 2004 - Bats and The Millennium Link Delivered

January 2004 - Company Re-launches as New Media Solutions Provider
Room 108 Limited begins to receive enquiries regarding new media solution provision. This triggers the re-launch of the company as a new media solutions provider and the addition of Julie Ellam to the company.
August 1999 - Directors Take Opportunity For Self Development
Room 108 Limited activities are placed "on hold" as the directors decide to improve their business skills further through training and working within other organisations. This is inline with the directors' long term view of re-launching the company with a stronger and more diverse offering to its potential client base.
May 1999 - Software Development Team Management
A contract with a global electronics manufacturing company allows Room 108 to expand into software development team management.
November 1998 - Manchester Contract Secured
A contract is secured with a global services organisation based in Manchester to assist in the development of a warrantee management system.
July 1998 - Room 108 Secures Software Contract
Room 108 secures a contract with a semi conductor equipment manufacturer in Eastbourne to assist in development of high vacuum pump monitoring software.
February 1998 - Room 108 Launches as IT Consultancy
Room 108 Limited launches as an IT consultancy with its first contract aiding in the transition of a semi conductor automation project with a global automation company.
